This is a little game that I REALLY STRUGGLED to make for the BrackeysGameJam 2021.1. Managed to finish it just in time.

In this game, you play as Karolinn, a girl who lives in a world that was infested by Uggas. Her partner, Lorknian, is a talking sword, who helps her through this adventure, even if he isn't able to move without her. Together, ther are stronger, as Karolinn isn't able to fight and Lorknian isn't able to move. They need to get to the Pillar of Rewriting, so they can rewrite the story to a point where no Uggas have invaded the world, and it is your job, as the player, to guide them there.

I hope you like this little game, and I hope it fits the theme well enough! It was wonderful working in this project in such a little time spam and I hadn't released a game yet, so I'm not expecting it to do very well, but it is something I acomplished and something I'm proud of! Blessings! SShad0W

There's a weird bug where I sometimes die at the very start without doing anything. Sometimes the sword doesn't hit even though it looks like the sword has definitely went through the enemy. I also know that it's a game jam, but if you make a game based around doing the same long course over and over again until you get till the end, some random generation would be nice. It doesn't have to be entire world generation, but it could just be a bunch of possible enemy spawn positions, and you make a specific or maybe even random number of monkeys spawn in any of those positions (of course there'd be more detail than that if you'd do it, but that's just my general idea). The enemies also feel a little boring because they just stand there and do nothing, giving no challenge. Simply programming simple AI for the monkey to follow the player, and jump when it sees something on its side would probably be enough to make it much more interesting. There's also no sound, so that's a bit of a stinky.

Other than that, great art, slightly frustrating platforming, but sometimes that's important for fun, and I see a lot of potential in this!

Thanks for the amazing feedback! I am aware of the enemies being boring, but I needed something and the deadline forced me to leave them without any AI or movement whatsoever, which was sad... I didn't think about any random generation at all, and it could be a great feature, thanks for suggesting it, although I would need to learn how to do it properly. I wasn't able to fix the bugs regarding the deeath on the start of the level, but I'll fix it ASAP. I really appreciate the detailed feedback, thank you so much!

I have no idea where i need to go.

I'm sorry... I wasn't really aware of trying to make the game comprehensible... The idea is to always go to the right!

The game feels unpolished as far as just the gameplay and environment. But other then that the art is really really good. I feel the game has a lot of potential if it were just polished as far as the animations and environment. :)

Thanks! I couldn't find the time to polish the game enough. I really appreciate your feedback, though!
